To coincide with the 75th FIFA Congress that will take place in Luque, Paraguay, the FIFA Museum and Museo CONMEBOL have teamed up and proudly present a special exhibition titled "FIFA 120th Year Anniversary" at the Sala Aduana of the Centro Cultural del Puerto de Asunción from 13 to 15 May 2025. This exhibition honors and celebrates the rich heritage and culture of international and South American football. It will be open to the public daily from 14.00 to 21.00, with free admission.
FIFA and CONMEBOL, the two oldest governing bodies in international football, were established just 12 years apart - in 1904 and 1916, respectively. The "FIFA 120th Year Anniversary" exhibition highlights significant milestones in the history of these two organizations, concluding FIFA's year-long 120th anniversary celebrations and commencing the countdown to CONMEBOL's 110th anniversary.
Original Trophies and Unique Artefacts from 12 Decades
The exhibition showcases the unparalleled allure of the FIFA World Cup™ and the historic significance of the Copa América, the oldest continental championship. Visitors will have the rare opportunity to see the original trophies of both tournaments, alongside a remarkable collection of historic artefacts from the esteemed collections of the FIFA Museum and Museo CONMEBOL to not only tell the story of the two oldest governing bodies, but of the beautiful game itself.
Presented in a chronological format, the "FIFA 120th Year Anniversary" exhibition showcases original objects from legendary players and iconic moments in international and South American football. An interactive multimedia experience further enriches the exhibition, including a vibrant display of the national team jerseys from all 211 FIFA member associations.
Looking forward, the exhibition also features the new FIFA Club World Cup Trophy ahead of the finals in the United States this year and the FIFA Women’s World Cup Trophy ahead of the tournament in Brazil 2027, bridging the past, present, and future of the world's most prestigious football tournaments. Additionally, a replica of the Jules Rimet Trophy, including its original first base, will be on display, highlighting the FIFA World Cup 2030 and its three centenary celebration matches in Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina.
